Nowadays typically run 3-5 miles 4 days a week. This is my first pair of Topo running sneakers. Past 6 years been running in Altra Rivieras. Finally decided to make a switch. Magnify 5’s are so comfortable, flexible & love wide toe box. I have high arches, a neuroma & hammer toe on left foot. Ran 5.25miles today. My feet were so comfortable no issues!

I have been a long-time Brooks Ghost wearer, but after developing plantar fasciitis, I decided to try a shoe that had a wider toe box & low drop. Right out of the box, these were so comfortable. I gradually rotated them in because it had been years since I ran in a zero drop shoe. I absolutely love them. I don’t feel like I am all over the place while running & my feet love these shoes. They haven’t cured my PF, but I’m on the road to recovery. Love them so much, I’m back to buy trail Topos.

I have skinny feet and toes that have been broken and hurt when squashed together. Also have flat feet and over pronation. Although I exercised my entire life, Being a Dental Hygienist for 25 yrs resulted in severe back pain and 8 hr surgery. Scar tissue from successful surgery caused me to suffer back pain for years . I bough Vionic flip flops and my back pain disappeared. Also was able to walk four miles with Orthodics . Although I have PTs and a PA in my immediate family, Nobody told me that ‘IT ALL STARTS WITH YOUR FEET’! I’m 67 yo and I wear the same size 6 clothes since my Twenties. Except for gaining 40lbs w both kids who I had in my early thirties. I’ve worn Hokas, Brooks, etc. Then I wore Altras with their super wide toe box and great fit for a year, although they didn’t look like normal a sneaker and I was slightly self conscious. They ‘set my toes free’! This past year, they stopped being made with same wide toe box . I searched intensely for a new pair with the same wide toe box but also made for skinny to normal sized feet. I saw Topo on YouTube . I Finally ordered them from my only sneaker store ZAPPOS. They have great wide toe box and enough arch support so no orthotics needed. Walking up deep hills in CO now. My daughter brought us up from FL 3 years ago.

I typically have a lot of difficulty finding shoes that work with all my foot problems: over-pronation, falling arches, narrow heel, wide toes, loose connective tissues… and the list goes on. These are great – and they look good too! When I first tried them on, I thought maybe my foot was being forced into an over-pronation position, but as I adapted, the problem resolved. First time in a long time I didn’t need to add insoles or other accessories to make my shoes not hurt! #sweepstakes

I like that they are soft and deep enough to replace insert with my own orthotics. A lot of shoes are not. But the inside material makes a squeaking noise when my insert rubs on it. I put a piece of tissue paper between the two. Looking for a more permanent solution. The heel is built up. I prefer a rounded heel for a smooth heel to toe transition. When I step down I feel like the inside heel is sticking out and preventing a quite soft heel strike. I like that your toe depth has some height to it to prevent 1st toe from rubbing on the top of shoe. Maybe a little less bulbous would be good. I alternate between Topo and Altra. Depends on how much you all change a model I like and then I have to search again to find a new shoe. I wish the tongue was a little thicker and did not have stiff plastic on the top near ankle. It pokes into my ankle. I have to wear laces loose to be comfortable. If I wore these for running it would not work out.
Major complaint for both companies is the gaudy color options. Take a look around at current fashion trends for colors of athletic clothing. Yellow, orange, dirty teal, and red are not on the top of any common clothing colors. The combination of colors is gross. I often have to get boring black because the other options are ugly.

For working out and jogging, I have been wearing Hoka shoes for a number of years. I have the Topo fly-lite 4 that I use as a street shoe and decided to try Topo for athletic purposes. I overpronate and need a wide toe box and after reading reviews I decided to try this particular model.
Pro: very comfortable, plenty of room especially in the toe box, cushion insole. I like the way the shoe feels when I work out on the treadmill. They are light and my feet don’t get too hot. I like the minimal heel when jogging.
Con: The shoe doesn’t provide good support when needed for balance and a firm stance for example when lifting weights. As I get older, I find my ability to balance gets more compromised and I need the assistance of a firmer soled shoe. The soft cushion insole doesn’t provide sufficient firmness and my feet wobble. I also wore this shoe on a 5 mile walk and my feet/legs felt more fatigued than when I were athletic shoes that provide more firmness.
Verdict: I like the shoe for some types of activity but not a go to shoe for all activities. I plan to insert my orthotics to see if this provides the firmness that I ultimately need when I am doing a mixed workout (treadmill/rower/weights).

I bought these after retiring my well-loved Ultrafly 4s and couldn’t be happier! I do feel slightly overpronated in these but will be adjusting the insoles and expect them to be perfect after that. I am VERY picky about shoes. I love that these are wide in the toe box while being secure around the heel – no heel slipping which is my pet peeve! #sweepstakes

This is the shoe I’ve been dreaming of – foot shaped but soft and comfy. I felt the difference the moment I put them on. They have helped with my PF pain and my toes don’t go numb from being squashed into a point. Definitely will be buying more. Only con – I wish the highest loft came in 0 drop.

I love the natural foot shape toe box (this is non-negotiable for me anymore). Love the fit in the heels. My narrow heels don’t slip. Very comfortable out of the box. Love the zero drop and cushioning, not too thin not too thick. Just right. Love the sophisticated colors like grey and black. I hate bright neon colors. I am not a runner. I only use these as my gym fitness trainers and general walking. Also bought the same pair for my husband. Definitely a TOPO fan now!

I wear my Topos for my daily 90 minute walks.Love the look the fit,and the comfort that starts the first time you put them on.No breaking in is necessary.I now own 3 pairs.

When my second pair of Magniflies wore out I tried the Pursuit 2 instead because I was hiking a lot more, but oh boy – if you have wide feet stick with the Magnifly. I just bought a new pair of Magniflies and I am in foot heaven again!
I especially love that I can order my usual size and it fits in the width – so often I have to order a half size up, but then it’s really too long in the toes or too loose in the heels.

I cannot even count how many pairs of the Magnifly I have owned (I think I started with the Magnifly 3). From the wide toe box to the light weight and cushioning feel these shoes perform to perfection on every run – from a 5K to a half marathon. With bunions and a few other foot issues no other shoe fits me as well as the Magnifly. Thank you Topo for making a shoe that works for my funky feet!

Finally, the perfect running shoe has been invented! The zero drop allows your posture to be as nature intended it to be. Elevating the heel, as most shoes do, changes the angle of every joint in your body, causing stress, increased pressure on the balls of the feet, and an unnatural gait. The amount of cushioning in the Magnify 5 provides the right amount of shock absorption for when running, or even just walking, on paved surfaces. The wide toe box allows your feet to splay instead of cramping your toes together into a point, which is ridiculous, if you think about it. If you look at the shape of most shoes, they do not match the shape of the foot. Topo nailed it with the Magnify 5!

So I’ve struggled to find a pair of wide enough shoes lately. This shoe however has the room I need. I hope Topo will add a shoe this wide to their trail shoes. The foot box doesn’t taper as much as some of their others which is really helpful as I have extra wide women’s feet. My feet are more straight across on the toes so my pinky toe is so happy in these shoes. I also love that they stay a bit wider through the midfoot. Please keep making real wide shoes I left Altra because you do better.

Great on my feet for the walking tours on the river cruise I just finished.

I had some other Topos that were an older model. These are sooooo much lighter!! I love the large toe box. I used to love another brand but they “sold out” to fashion. My feet love zero drop. For me, these shoes check all of the boxes. Lightweight, cushioned, large toe box, and zero drop. My new favorites.

Love these, the shape is great for my wide toe box and smaller/average heel (aka, my duck feet). And they actually look nice.

I’m just getting back into running and I’m a zero drop girlie because they make my bunions a non-issue.. Though I LOVE my Altras for backpacking, when I ran in them, they felt flat and hardno fun! So glad I found the Magnifly! There’s just something fun and inspiring about a little spring. Idk, a little more cushion helps me lose myself in the moment more. Love the turquoise ones but am going to order the charcoal as my wear on the plane/ run when I get there shoe.

Love Topo. I was a diehard Brookes girl before I found Topo.

I feel best in zero drop shoes, and the Magnifly has been my running shoe for years now. Topos was recommended by my doctor, and I’m grateful. They got me through my first ultramarthon last year, and I’m still going strong (over 55). Strongly recommend.

I’ve had these for about a year now. It’s really hard for me to find shoes I can wear for long periods of time. I really like the zero drop and wide toe box of barefoot shoes but I’m not looking to completely get rid of any cushioning or arch support. I live in New York and do a lot of walking on hard ground/hard floors. And I’m still working on building up the strength in my arches. These shoes are exactly what I was looking for and they are extremely comfortable.
Katie –
At first I thought the Topo was too soft, but after wearing them for a day, my foot pain actually improved. I think it is the zero drop, because I have another pair of Topos that did not do the trick.
Janis –
The Topo Magnifly has been my training shoe of choice for the past 4 years. I transitioned from another natural toe box, zero drop brand that wasn’t holding up well. Topo’s tread tolerates the road very well; I don’t experience a loss of responsiveness in the foam or traction on the rubber even leading up to 400 miles of running.
I’ve purchased previous versions in colors that were not my first choice, but was really glad to see the Magnifly 5 in the black/charcoal combination- they look great! More importantly, they fit really well, give my toes proper room for a natural splay and have a nice, snug ankle for a confident fit during speed work sessions.
